The short version
When the sound and picture drift apart, the cause is usually the soundbar or the TV's sound processing, not the channel. Turn off any audio enhancement, set the soundbar to PCM, then use the player's audio-delay setting. If one channel is off and others are fine, the feed itself is out of sync.
- Soundbars and receivers add delay
- Most players let you shift audio by milliseconds
What should I try?
- Switch the TV's sound mode to standard and turn off enhancements.
- Set the box's audio output to PCM or stereo.
- Use the app's audio-delay option to shift the sound.
- Try another channel to see if it is just that feed.
When the delay only happens on one channel
If the sound drifts on a single channel and the others are fine, the problem is in that stream, not your device. Try the backup feed of that channel where the group offers one, and send us its name so we can look at the stream. If the delay appears on every channel, look at the TV's sound settings: soundbars and surround receivers often add their own delay, and many have an "AV sync" or "lip sync" slider. Turning off extra sound processing on the TV, such as virtual surround, often fixes it without touching the app.
Questions people ask
Is it worse on 4K channels?
Sometimes, because the TV processes 4K picture more. The delay setting fixes it.
Does a wired connection help?
Not for sync, which is a playback issue rather than a network one.
Can you fix a channel's sync?
Tell us the channel and time and we check the feed.
