The short version
Shaw Direct is satellite TV, now part of Rogers, popular in rural Canada where cable does not reach. It needs a dish and a receiver. Canada 4K IPTV needs only an internet connection of about 10 Mbps for HD. In rural areas, test your connection during the trial before you cancel the dish.

Satellite or internet?
Satellite works without good internet; IPTV does not. If your internet is low-orbit satellite or fibre, IPTV usually works well.
